Care guide

How to care for natural indigo

Natural indigo becomes more personal with time. Gentle fading and subtle shifts in tone are part of the fabric’s character, but thoughtful care will keep your piece beautiful for years.

Wash gently

Spot-clean bags and accessories whenever possible. For washable linens and garments, use cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Wash indigo pieces separately or with similar dark colors, especially during their first few washes.

Let it dry naturally

Avoid bleach, harsh stain removers, and prolonged soaking. Reshape the piece while damp and air-dry it away from strong, direct sunlight. Heat can weaken cotton fibers and accelerate fading, so skip the dryer whenever possible.

Store with care

Make sure the item is completely dry before storing it. Keep it in a cool, ventilated place and avoid long contact with pale fabrics, since natural indigo can transfer when new or damp.
